Frequently asked questions.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes! We are licensed and insured. Every locksmith operating legally in Oklahoma is required to be licensed and to carry that license on them along with a state I.D. while doing work as a locksmith. You can verify a company license HERE
Do you have a physical shop address?
No. We are a mobile locksmith business that comes to you with a full array of services you would find at a brick and mortar locksmith shop. This saves you money since there is no rent, utility bills or any other large overhead. A technician will arrive in a marked company van.
Do you provide a warranty on parts or labor?
Yes. We provide a one year warranty for parts and labor on anything we sell residential and automotive and a two year warranty parts and labor for anything we sell for commercial.
Can you program smart key fobs and push to start?
Yes. We are able to service 85% of vehicles on the road today whether the vehicle requires programming for smart keys, fobs, remotes or just an older mechanical key. We got you covered.
How can I tell if a locksmith is legitimate?
Every locksmith in Oklahoma is required to carry their locksmith license on them while working along with a picture I.D. to match. You can ask to see both. You can also verify a company license HERE
How much will this cost?
Locksmith pricing varies based on service complexity, parts, time, location and specialized tools or equipment. Estimates are just that, an estimate and while prices can fluctuate from the estimated price, a significant increase in price from what you were quoted with no reasonable explanation is a red flag.
Are there extra fees for nights and weekends?
Most locksmith companies charge extra for nights and weekends, however here at Guardian Lock and Key, weekends are no extra charge and we are available from 7:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. 7 days a week and available 24/7 for emergency service.
Can you rekey all of my locks so one key fits every door?
Yes, but you may need new hardware. If all your locks are the same keyway like Schlage or Kwikset then normally they can all be keyed the same.
Do you have to dill or damage my lock to open it?
Possibly. If the first thing a locksmith says or does involves a drill then that is a red flag. Most locks can be opened without a destructive method.
Can you make a new key if I lost the original?
Yes. A locksmith can pull your cylinder and decode the pinning to make you a new key.
What services do you offer?
Commercial, Automotive and residential. This includes lockouts, rekeying, making keys, programming fobs, upgrading security, master keying. Too many services to list but give us a call and we can answer any questions you may have.
